I thought Dwayne forgot he had an album in stores, considering we haven’t seen a music video from the album since August. Despite the delay, Lil Wayne gets artsy in his music video for “Mirror,” the bonus track featuring Bruno Mars, from the deluxe edition of his horrible  chart-topping album Tha Carter IV.  Check out the trailer below, and catch the full video when it premieres on January 31.

Is it just me or has Kelly been a little too available for these collaborations? 

Sean Paul snags Kelly Rowland for “How Deep Is Your Love,” a new Stargate-produced track from his new album Tomahawk Technique.  With Kelly handling the hook, “How Deep Is Your Love” could be a sleeper hit. Tomahawk Technique arrives in stores on Valentine’s Day. Side note: Sean Paul can miss me with this album title and cover.  

With a new single available on iTunes and Valentine’s Day on the horizon, R&B crooner Tank looks to take advantage of this season of love by announcing his new tour.

The 8-date trek, dubbed The Couples Retreat Tour, kicks off February 10 in  Raleigh, North Carolina, before making stops in New York, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C. (on Valentine’s Day), and Atlanta.

The talented singer-songwriter is putting the finishing touches on his fifth studio album, Savior, which is expected to arrive in stores in May.  He recently shot the music video for the lead single, “Next Breath,” in Los Angeles.

Today, Billboard unveiled its Power 100, a ranking of the most powerful people in the music business.

The list consists executives from record labels, television and film, radio, and music-publishing industries, digital service providers, music branding companies, and six artists, each of whom cracked the business ranking for specific reasons.

Among the artists who made the list are Jay-Z and Beyoncé as a power couple, Taylor Swift, U2, Jon Bon Jovi and Lady Gaga.

Sitting at the top of the list is Irving Azoff, the executive chairman of Live Nation, who ranks number one due to his command of the biggest concert-promotion company, the largest ticketing company and the largest artist-management firm in the world.

In the year ended 2010, Live Nation posted sales of $5.06 billion in revenue, up 21% from the prior year’s total of $4.2 billion. That increase is almost entirely due to the merger with Ticketmaster that brought Azoff — a veteran music industry executive with a long resume that includes running major record labels and artist-management firms — into the company. But in 2011, going up against the merger numbers, Live Nation is still up 9.75% to $4.2 billion, up another 9.75% from $3.83 billion.

You really heated up our graffiti and murals set for this photo shoot! Is your New York hometown still your favorite city?
It’s my favorite place when it’s not cold, and right now New York is freezing! I’ve been living in Miami where we shoot the show, so I’ve gotten a little spoiled.

Do you ever go topless on South Beach?
No. I would never do that. Being topless on South Beach is not a good look. (laughs)

You’re engaged to New England Patriots star Chad Ochocinco, but you star on a show called Basketball Wives. Did we miss something?
I was formerly in a 10-year relationship with NBA veteran Antoine Walker. He played for the Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, and a couple of other teams.

So you’re obviously a sports fan, cool. Which sport do you like most, football or basketball?
Football, of course!

Makes sense. Your shoot shows you have tight end skills of your own. Which of your body parts do you love most?
My breasts. They’re pretty. (laughs)

Is Ochocinco as animated off the field as he is on it?
Yes. Chad is animated 24/7, and it drives me a little crazy sometimes. He’s very energetic with tons of jokes. But he’s not as arrogant and cocky as people think. When he’s home he’s very polite, and a gentleman. But he’s always on.

If you weren’t a reality TV star, what would your second career be?
Full-time entrepreneur. Before Basketball Wives, I was very busy in Miami with my shoe store, Dulce. I love shoes. And the only reason I signed on to do the show was to help promote my store. So if my life wasn’t so non-stop now, I would be at my store 24/7.

Christopher goes for blood on his new single.  With the world’s current obsession with electro-pop/dance music, it comes as no surprise that Breezy took the plunge on “Turn Up The Music,” the second single from his upcoming fifth album Fortune.  This electro-pop craze isn’t part of my ministry, BUT this song does my ears good.  I expect this to top Billboard’s Hot 100 in the coming weeks. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.  The past couple of years have been complete hell for NFL wide receiver Terrell Owens.  The arrogant but ultra talented athlete gets candid in the February issue of GQ, where he talks about his two alleged suicides attempts, being unemployed and broke, his fallout with BFFs and co-stars of his reality show, and his court cases with his FOUR baby mommas.

On why no NFL team wants to sign him:

An unnamed NFL executive said, “It’s not his knee that’s the problem; it’s his attitude. He may have been less openly divisive with the Bengals, but you can’t live down the destruction of all those years. With T.O., no matter how brilliant he can be on the field, the dark side is always lurking. You don’t know which T.O. you’re going to get, and no one is comfortable risking that.”

On his portrayal on VH1′s  The T.O. Show 

T.O. says he agreed to do the show in order to “expose a new audience, a more female audience, to me as a human being beyond the macho sports personality.” The show’s co-producer, Jesse Ignjatovic, says he’s never seen celebrity so willing to show his vulnerability.  “I can’t imagine another NFL player who would let us film while he told his mother, who relied on him, that he was going broke, someone who wouldn’t hold back tears while he stood there in her kitchen.”
On how his business partners helped him blow $80 million

Most egregious of all was the ill-fated Alabama entertainment complex (with an electronic-bingo component) that cost him $2 million. He invested, he says, at the suggestion of his advisers and a lawyer they steered him to, Pamela Linden. The venture turned out to be illegal in the state, not to mention a violation of the NFL’s policy prohibiting players from investing in gambling. Owens is suing Linden, as is Clinton Portis, the former Redskins running back who also invested. (Several other players and the boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. also got sucked into the venture.)

“I hate myself for letting this happen,” he says. “I believed that they had my back when they said, ‘You take care of the football, and we’ll do the rest.’ And in the end, they just basically stole from me.”

In addition to those financial woes, Owens says ”a guy who I’d helped when his grandmother passed,” had slowly drained one of his accounts of more than $270,000. The bank eventually returned the money, he says, but “it pretty much destroyed whatever trust in people I had left.”

On friendships

“I don’t have no friends. I don’t want no friends. That’s how I feel.”

Who has time for friends when you have to pay $44,600 a month in child support for for his four children, ages 5 to 12.

On baby mommas regrets

“If there’s anything I’m sorry about, it’s getting involved with all that.” He never actually dated any of the women, he says. One was a one-night stand, the others “repeat offenders.” Owens, who has never been married, concedes he is “not a very good judge of character.” Still, he “never suspected they were the types to do what they done in the past year.”

On suicide attempts

T.O. chalks them as “misunderstandings.”

Etta James may have passed, but her music lives on.  The late singer made a powerful impact on Billboard charts this week.

James, who died on January 20, earns her highest charting position on the Billboard 200 this week, as The Best of Etta James – 20th Century Masters: The Millennium Collection jumps 116 spots from No. 162 to No. 46 with 8,000 sold. A 149% increase over the previous week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. According to Billboard, the R&B/blues legend had never gone higher than No. 68, when “At Last!” rose to that position in 1961.

For the week ending Sunday, Jan. 22, James’ overall catalog of albums sold 30,000 copies. That marks a 378% increase over the previous week, when her collected albums moved just over 6,000 units.

She also debuts on the Billboard 200 with the 1997 hits collection Her Best (7,000; up 4,226%) at No. 59 and re-enters at No. 96 with the At Last! (5,000; up 907%).  Her iconic single “At Last” is her best-selling single of the week. Shifting 63,000 downloads, the song reenters the Digital Songs chart at No. 29, with a weekly gain of 1,361%.  ”At Last” is one of James’ 26 charted songs on Billboard’s Hot 100 – it rose to a peak of No. 47 on Feb. 11. 1961.

For the week, her catalog of songs sold 118,000 downloads (more than half of that were “At Last’s” sales) — for an overall gain of 1,091% compared to last week.

John Legend is back with a new single. Lifted from the soundtrack to the romantic comedy Think Like a Man, “Tonight (Best You Ever Had)” featuring Ludacris finds the newly engaged crooner taking things to the bedroom on the smooth tune. Listen below.

Drake will return to his native Canada to provide the entertainment during the second intermission at this Sunday’s NHL All-Star Game. Also on the bill is the winner of the inaugural season of NBC’s “The Voice,” Javier Colon, and singer and rapper Outasight.

No word on what Drake will perform, but its obvious his set will include tracks from Take Care, his chart-topping sophomore album. Take Care debuted atop the Billboard 200 in November with more than  630,000 units sold. Since its release, Take Care has sold 1.3 million copies in the United States alone.

The 2012 Tim Hortons NHL All-Star Game airs January 29, at 4 p.m. ET., on NBC.

Rihanna and these damn tattoos.  Already sporting over 14 tats, the “We Found Love” singer recently added to the collection this week.  While visiting the the Shamrock Social Club in Los Angeles, Rihanna got “Thug Life” tatted across her knuckles.

“All these bitches screaming that 2pac back ♫ #THUGLIFE,” tweeted the pop star.

Ne-Yo has parted ways with Def Jam and is moving to Motown Records, where he will serve as an artist and senior VP of A&R.  In addition, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter will bring his Compound Entertainment imprint to the label.

In his new role at Motown, Ne-Yo will serve as a producer and mentor to the label’s artists and also discover and sign new talent.

“His track record of success at Def Jam will always be a benchmark,” says Universal Republic and Island Def Jam Motown chairman/CEO Barry Weiss in a statement announcing the news. “But this move to Motown will provide new and inspiring challenges for Ne-Yo as both an artist and a key member of the new senior management team that is taking form at the label in 2012.”

Ne-Yo’s appointment as senior VP of A&R is latest step in Motown’s recent mission to revitalize their Urban division.

“We are committed to discovering, developing and nurturing R&B/soul superstars here at Motown,” says Ethiopia Habetemariam, who was appointed senior VP of Motown, formerly headed by president Sylvia Rhone, last September, and currently serves as the executive VP/head of urban music for Universal Music Publishing Group,  in the co-announcement with Weiss. “In Ne-Yo we have both a global superstar and arguably one of the best songwriters in music. His presence on the executive team only strengthens our commitment to be the very best in R&B.”

On his move from Def Jam to Motown, Ne-Yo says he’s “honored.”  ”I’m honored that I¹ve been given such a prestigious title and trusted with such responsibility; terrified because I know that playing this role in the fashion of one of my career role models, Mr. Smokey Robinson — these are big shoes to fill. But trust, I can handle it.”

No doubt, this is a good look for Ne-Yo. A proven singer-songwriter with the keen eye for the industry. It’ll be interesting to see what artists are developed and made into stars under Shaffer’s watch.

Bobby V returns with the music video for “Hammer Time,”  a track from his latest mixtape, Vitamin V.  The former Disturbing Tha Peace singer has fallen out of the mainstream but continues to grind with his mixtapes and independent albums.  ”Hammer Time” is a smooth bedroom tune, and the visual matches the sensual nature of the track.
