‘The Game’ Season Premiere Draws 5.3 Million Viewers

Mara Brock Akil’s The Game proved to be a ratings winner once again last night, as the season premiere drew big numbers for BET.

5.3 million viewers tuned in for the season 5 premiere, making it cable’s #1 scripted series telecast among 18-49 this season and the #1 cable sitcom premiere this season among households, viewers and adults 18-49.  While the number is down from last year’s premiere, which drew a record breaking 7.7 million viewers, it’s proof the series is a hot commodity. I’m sure The CW is kicking themselves for canceling the show.
